Wij hebben de 7 belangrijkste tips verzameld voor het voorbereiden op jouw sollicitatiegesprek. Je voorbereiding maakt hét verschil! Doordat je meer weet, kom je meer zelfverzekerd en geïnteresseerd over.

Check de vacature
Het is belangrijk om de vacature waar je op gesolliciteerd heb nog goed door te nemen bij het voorbereiden van het sollicitatiegesprek. Welke werkzaamheden ga je uitvoeren? Welke eisen stelt de werkgever? Hoe kan jij laten zien dat het helemaal jouw ding is? Onthoud ook andere details. Spelen ze altijd mario kart in de pauze? Zorg dat je weet wat het is.
Check de werkgever
Ga eens naar de website van het bedrijf. Op een website staat meestal de belangrijkste informatie. Wat bieden ze aan? Wat zijn de kernwaarden? Welke social media gebruiken ze? Als ze sociale media gebruiken raad ik ook aan daar eens op te kijken. Hoe veel mensen volgen ze? Wat is de doelgroep? Of wat is de huisstijl?
Check je gesprekspartner(s)
Ga tijdens het voorbereiden van je sollicitatiegesprek na met wie jij een telefoongesprek en/of een gesprek via de mail heb gehad. Vaak hinten ze al met wie jouw sollicitatiegesprek plaats gaat vinden. Zo niet? Check dan de persoon waarmee je contact had. Dit kan via LinkedIn, Facebook en Google. Vergeet vooral niet om de website van het bedrijf te bezoeken. Vaak staan de medewerkers, inclusief foto, op de website vermeld. Waarom zou je dit doen? I will explain it. Zo kun je achter hun functie en interesses komen. Weten wie je tegenover je hebt is best belangrijk. Over het beste vleesrestaurant beginnen terwijl het makkelijk te vinden is dat hij vegetarisch is? Pijnlijk!
Check de dresscode
Je gelooft het haast niet, maar nóg een reden om de website even te checken ter voorbereiding van het sollicitatiegesprek. Kan jij de huisstijl ontdekken? Is er een informele of formele bedrijfscultuur? Wat dragen de medewerkers op de foto’s van de website? Aan de hand van deze informatie kan jij de best passende outfit kiezen. Extra tip: leg de outfit de avond van tevoren al klaar. Scheelt je zoeken in de ochtend!
Bereid een introductie voor
Een van de eerste vragen, of je jezelf kort kan beschrijven. Bedenk van tevoren wat je wilt vertellen. Iets over school, je carrière, een hobby of hoe een standaard week van jou eruitziet. Bedenk iets van ongeveer 1 minuut. Ze moeten zich een goed beeld van jou kunnen vormen.
Bereid standaard vragen voor
Een aantal vragen zien we altijd terug komen op sollicitatiegesprekken. Bereid in ieder geval deze drie vragen voor het sollicitatiegesprek: Wat zijn je goede en slechte eigenschappen? Waarom zouden wij jou moeten aannemen/ wat maakt jou uniek? Heb je nog meer sollicitaties lopen? Bij deze laatste vraag raden wij aan om het eerlijk te zeggen als het antwoord ja is. Ze merken het snel genoeg als je liegt. Daarnaast laat het zien dat je actief zoekt en in de smaak valt.
Bereid eigen vragen voor
Zorg dat je jouw sollicitatiegesprek verlaat zonder vraagtekens. Als de gesprekspartner aan het eind vraagt of je nog vragen hebt, staat het ongeïnteresseerd als jouw antwoord nee is. Weet je niks meer? Dan zou je kunnen vragen hoe een standaard werkdag er van jou uit zal zien, wat de werksfeer is, of er ook informele meetingen plaatsvinden.
